“United” is the theme of the CERINNO 2023 award. The award was established in 2015 by the famous Nina Miller Collection. Like many others, the United Kingdom award supports Ukraine during these difficult times. Usually, CERINNO has no theme, and the choice is left to those artists who use new technologies in ceramics, and the use of such technologies is most justified in the concept of the work itself. This year there is an anti-war theme. A 2023 panel member proposed the theme, the 2021 award winner, Alina Khalitova. Alina was forced to immigrate from Russia due to her anti-war position expressed in her works. The Head of the award supported the proposal, and a charity auction of the finalist works will be held.
The panel 2023 comprises the Artistic Director Tanuka Hamana, MoAD, Interim Director of Exhibitions and Curatorial Affairs Sandra Wett, and the artist Alina Khalitova.
